...anybody else watching this show? I think it is one of the best TV series I have ever seen.

Bummer about Thomas More last week. I missed that (kind of glad, all that guillotine stuff...ugh). It's obvious Ann Boleyn is headed for trouble...Of course we all know how that ends!

Yes, I love it too! Not exactly the most historically accurate, but it sure is entertaining!

If that's the one with Jonathan Rhys Meyers then yes. It was on our screens a few months back.

Watching it On Demand, so I'm only on the 4th episode of the second season.

The woman who plays Kathrine, Maria Doyle Kennedy, is very good, and I can watch Peter O'Toole in almost anything.

It would be a spoiler Blossom, if we didn't already know what happens. :-)

I like the show, it's a fascinating period of history in it's own right. The Philippa Gregory books about Henry VIII et famille are very entertaining.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers kind of gives me hives. I hate to say it of a fellow Irish-person, but he is horribly arrogant and pretentious. Ugh. Still like him on the show though ;)

This is basically my favorite show on t.v. right now!

It has a lot of historical inaccuracies, but the show is so entertaining. I know people are still catching up on the episodes, so I won't post any spoilers, but the historical inaccuracies leave room for a few "surprises."

Also, I agree with Jonathan Rhys Meyer seeming to be pretentious and arrogant, but my is he good looking. That doesn't make up for it, but he is one of my celebrity crushes at the moment.

Also... the Philippa Gregory books are my favorite shallow reading. I highly recommend them. My favorite so far has been between The Other Boleyn Girl and The Virgin's Lover (because I am a huge Queen Elizabeth fan).

On a semi-related note, anyone see the Cate Blanchett Elizabeth movies? Pure gold! I loved them both, but the last was especially good thanks to Clive Owen, who is my ultimate celebrity crush.

I agree. I know it's shallow, but since he's so good looking, I try to like his character. It's pretty difficult. He's detestable! No idea what he's like in real life, but he's easy on the eyes. The whole cast is great though. And even though it's not 100% accurate, at least it might spark people's interest in the REAL history and they might, I don't know...read a book?

maybe the worst show in the history of television. JRM is a terrible actor in this show- as is most of the rest of the cast. He is angrily smug and self -interested in exactly the same way for every moment of every episode. The plot lines do not really develop so much as the story forcibly moves from moment to moment with each episode, and the historical inaccuracies are more abundant than when they actually get it right.

I can't believe I wastched the entire first season.

What a disappointment.

YES. She is one of my favorite actresses. She comes to the screen so well-steeped in theatre. There are few who can hold a candle to her greatness...totally agree. FABULOUS movies.

She was the perfect Elizabeth. Hands-down. And that last film... my god! She did such an amazing job of displaying strength, femininity, love, callousness, egoism... all of it!
