The show was fantastic. There were many great moments. Some that come to my head are, Note to Self Don't Die, the Martian Song, I See Monster, Mockingbird Song, Come Pick Me Up on the Piano bench and Easy Plateau which may have been one of the top show stealers last night.

This is 'Mrs. Rosebud' reporting about last night's show at the Starland in NJ. This is my very first post of any kind in the www world, be gentle with me.

As I expected I was completely electrified by Ryan. He looked awesome, he sounded great, perfect songs perfectly played, just the right amount of talking to the crowd and of course the improv songs are always a treat. Everyone in the band seemed happy, looked great and played beautifully.

When we were in line in the VIP section Ryan came out with his skateboard and walked into the lot and out to the road and then ended up sitting against the fence talking and smoking. I could have, but I didn't go to him. First of all I probably would have passed out from nervousness on my way and second I really felt as if I would have been invading his space before the show (even though he did choose to come out in the middle of a parking lot full of his fans).

The venue was nice but I believe they oversold so there was very little room to move at times. I was having a hard time containing myself - I must apologize to anyone I inadvertently ran into or danced on.

I was lucky enough to meet some great people and had excellent company all night, you know who you are!

Here's my official review:
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow, repeat as necessary. . .

Thanks for the review Mrs Rosebud & great to see you on the boards.
Hope you're keeping Mr Rosebud out of trouble, you know what he's like!

The show started with Neil Casal (spelling?), he played about 6 or 7 songs, I think he started at about 9ish. He's good enough but waiting for Ryan I was ready to gong him off the stage! I think Ryan came on at about 10 and the curfew for the Starland was midnight. It seemed like just moments after he stopped playing the staff people started herding us out, so I'd guess his show was about one hour and 57 minutes! That old Grey Goose had completely taken me over by then so the time was irrelevent.

Mr. Rosebud called last night from the Baltimore show and I heard about 5 minutes of Magnolia Mountain. He's got Funky Avacado to keep him in line! He's with another friend who flew in from Ohio for the Baltimore show and he will be with him for the next one in VA. He'll call today and give me the full review and I'll post it later.

Although I'm pefectly happy with Mrs. Rosebud (and Mr. Rosebud) perhaps I should have my own identity and name. Any suggestions Factory Boy?

Ooh, I don't know. I'll give it some thought.
Maybe Onefortherose, if you're looking for a Ryan related name & you are obviously THE one for the rose, despite his sometimes laddish bravado! Haha
Plus it's a great song but then, aren't they all?

I like One for the Rose, and you are right.

I'll look through Funky's post of the 400 or so songs that he'd like to hear on tour and see if I get any other ideas there.

Yes, they are all great songs. Although I have a running argument with Mr. Rosebud about Barterling Lines!

Thanks for responding to me, this is all new for me, but I think I like it!

Haha, ol' Rosy's not going to be able to get near his computer when he gets home!!
Shame keesy isn't around to say hi to you at the moment. I'm really worrying that he'll miss out on the Dutch tickets whilst he's on his hols. He's been waiting sooo long too!
Say hi to hubby for me when he calls & wish him well.

Hi Kees

Hoping you had a lovely holiday, thanks for your warm greeting and the name suggestion, although I'm not sure that I'm worthy of such a beautiful namesake?

I'm glad to hear that RA will be coming to Holland, what are the dates? I'm sure you will have a grand old time! I'm still high from last night, a musical natural high, of course. . . . .

Mrs. Rosebud...you're becoming quite the poster here! Now you can understand our addiction.

I'm so glad Mr. R is having a great time. I wanted to cry when I saw that I missed a Stella Blue....so I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's instead...while feeling sorry for myself. Next tour we need to go to more shows. I so enjoyed sitting with you even if you did dance on my feet all night (only kidding).

Keep us updated on Rosebud's experiences as it seems we are all living through him at the moment....lucky bastard.

I have not heard from Mr. Rosebud this morning but I did get a two messages from him last night (while I was at work, thank you very much). He said that the area they are in is beautiful and the Norva was awesome. The next message was the first couple of minutes of "stars go blue", so I know he played at least that last night. That's all I have! More later . . .

AmyG: 1) I totally understand now. 2) Ben&Jerry are also my personal therapists, they can solve a lot of things 3) Here's the quote that I was not quoting quite right the other night: "I wanna see if I can break someone's heart while playing a show. Fuck them up so bad that they just go, "Fuck!", start crying, and leave. Because I want to express how much I've seen. And I can do it every fucking night. It never burns out Ryan Adams."
