With many thanks to Neal for letting me tape (and also to UV for helping get it arranged, and to Joel for letting it run here!), here's the show from last Thursday, with Jon Graboff on 2nd guitar. New song titles are confirmed. Hope you like the show, it's got a really fun vibe to it...

What do I need to download?
To download, all you need is a BitTorrent client installed on your computer. Here are a few we suggest.
[PC] uTorrent: www.utorrent.com
[Mac] Transmission BT: www.transmissionbt.com
How do I download?
Just click on the link within a torrent thread. The link will have a .torrent extension. A window will pop up and ask where you would like to store these files. Pick a location on your computer. Your BitTorrent client will do the rest. The program will show you that the file is 100% once it has finished downloading. Leave your BT Client open so you can help seed for others. This allows others to grab the music the same as you have, it also keeps your ratio on the positive side. The more people seeding, the quicker the downloads become.
What do I do once I've downloaded the music?
Most likely the music will be in either a FLAC or SHN format. These are lossless compressed music data files when uncompressed will allow you to burn to cdr. Here are the tools needed to convert these music files.
[PC/MAC] FLAC: http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html
[PC] SHN: http://www.etree.org/mkw.html
[MAC] SHN: http://www.hornig.net/shorten/
For example when using Flac Frontend; when the program is open, click on Add Files. This will open a dialog box. Use the box to navigate to where you previously download the files. Highlight all the files in the folder and click on open. The bottom right has a button called Output Directory…this is where you can store the files once they have been decoded. The default is (same as input directory) which puts the files back in the original location you chose. That is recommended for ease, but you can switch to any directory on your computer. Now press the decode button. Once that has finished you can find WAV files in the folder and using your burning software, transfer them to CD. In that same folder, you will also find a .txt file. This will include information about the torrent including the lineage (taping sources and transfer info), set list and show information along with anything else that may pertain to that particular torrent.

You need to download and install a "torrent" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrent_file) client for your computer (we recommend uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com) for Windows or Transmission (http://www.transmissionbt.com) for Mac), then download the torrent file from this thread, and you can start to download the files. For more of an explanation on what torrents are and how they work, check out this site (http://www.tricksystem.com/2009/02/torrents-explained.html), or use Google to search for "torrents explained". (Or do what driver suggested... :) )

Just to say definatly do try. Its well worth it. I'm not very techy but the software pretty much does the work for you and although theres some weird jargon ect its pretty simple to use. I use Utorrent btw.
Another thing - when the file is downloaded the files are flac so you might also need software to play as flac files or convert to mp3 if you prefer that format. The one I use for this is Switch (http://www.nch.com.au/switch/mp3.html)
But if anyone else knows of anything they find better i'd be interested to hear.

thanks so much to everyone involved. looking forward to hearing it :)
I use utorrent to download and then flac frontend to convert flacs to wav files. then play the wav files in my computer or burn to cd. has always worked for me for years. not sure if flac frontend is old school, or more time consuming than newer programs, but it works and is easy to use.
