I have just bought;

Trouble- Ray Lamontagne as recommended by Zoomrfix.

I finally went after Townes Van Zandt, Texas Troubadour [best of 4 cd BOX SET] as a result of some things that were said by Factory boy.

And via one of the above can’t remember which I found out that amazon buyers had also bought Comfort of Srangers special edition Beth Orton so I listened (Oh my) and I bought that too.

My bank manager will be ecstatic, but enough of him. I feel like an ex Chernobyl employee, I mean I’m literally glowing and feel like there's no going back!!

Bank manager- You have gone over your agreed overdraft limit
Me- I'm Whhooppee I could eat vindaloo through a didgeridoo I got all these fucking great cds woot woot

Devendra Banhart (boy that name is a mouthful :o)

I heard Nino Rojo last night for the first time; I think he's somebody I need to explore...

I like Ray LaMontagne so-so, but he seems to be very popular amongst Ryan fans...

Oh Chris - do you like that "Concrete Sky" song Beth and Ryan do together? It's quite beautiful.

I'm not sure why; I used to listen to exclusively female singer/songwriters at one point and now it's shifted to all men...I hardly ever listen to the ladies.

I like concrete sky. It was very good song. I once was eating shellfish on a dock and the song came on. My girlfriend is such a bitch sometimes. She don't understand cooking. When will the cable company come over.

I haven't heard it Blossom….having just bought her new album which sounds great I really want to hear this!!

Any idea where I can get hold of it?

As for female voices I’m a big fan of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Joni Mitchell and the lead singer of Jefferson Airplane (don't know the name though) but I’m not into female singer songwriters too much.

Who knows that might change a bit with Beth Orton….I hadn’t heard her voice until a day or two ago, I must have been smoking hash on the moon for the last ten years :D

Hey Sydneyfan how do you know someone who calls themselves big cock is a guy called Dougie?

Please don’t answer that  Haha Just kidding :D

oh you are talking about Grace Slick...adore her! she had such an amazing voice in her Jefferson Airplane days.

the "Concrete Sky" song is off Beth's "Daybreaker" which is the only one we've got

Cat Power, Lucinda Williams, Neko Case, Caitlin Cary (with or without Tres Chicas), Isobel Campbel...... But at the end of the day, if you like the voice, if you like the music, who the hell cares if the voice is male or female???

Hey Chris, I saw you smoking shit on the moon! I used to do pills on venus!!!

And Dougie?....... Nevermind, it will blow over..... Just a cockshuttling wanker!

Doogie is a troll with a thing for RA messageboards. And Chris, I'm almost certain I didn't know him that well.

Don't worry, I wasn't offended. And I'm not sure if it was actually Doogie or not. There was something rather Doogie-esque in his style though....

Yep, he's kind of still an up-and-comer...i think the Ethan Johns connection also has something to do with it...And he plays a mean harmonica...He comes off as extremely introverted though..saw him at the Fillmore here in San Fran and he rarely made eye contact with the crowd and didnt talk much..it was obvious it wasnt from conceit it seemed more like nerves and shyness...at one point during the show some dude from the back shouted out, "Dont be nervous ray!!" and everybody kind of laughed even him..it was kinda cool lol
