Just saw some new tour dates announced for the awesome Chris Robinson Brotherhood!!!

If you haven't already, you must check them out this summer!!!


Chris Robinson Brotherhood will embark on a U.S. Summer tour which starts June 14 in Milwaukee and sees the band traveling through Chicago, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Asbury Park, Brooklyn, Denver, Salt Lake City and more before wrapping up on August 26 in Amagansett, NY.
Chris Robinson (lead vocals, guitar), Neal Casal (guitar, vocals), Adam MacDougall (keys, vocals), George Sluppick (drums) and Mark Dutton (bass, vocals) will be touring to promote their debut studio album, Big Moon Ritual out June 5 via Silver Arrow/Megaforce Records. A companion record, The Magic Door, is due for release in September.

Pretty much what I thought too! I don't see much of 2009 Cards in there, mostly 2007, but yeah. I love it.

Never been much of a Robinson fan but they're real close for that Pittsfield, MA show so I'll prolly check that one out and see what the fuss is all about!

May I assume that they allow recording?

It's a beautiful album. Gorgeous melodies. The Dead for the 2010 decade. Neal seems to be channeling Jerry frequently. Recommend it on vinyl (comes with a 320 rate MP3 download code).

Honestly I can't imagine you being disappointed. They do a few GD covers and in my opinion do a better job than any Further, Other Ones, blah blah blah that I've ever seen.

I am pretty sure they allow AUD recording, though they sell their SBDs.

and listen to the album if you get a chance.

I must have missed this thread the first time around. I didn't realize they were playing the Intersection! It's been years since I've been there, it would be awesome to see this band in a small venue like that. We have company staying with us that weekend, so we can't leave town

Well i read this thread last week and picked the album up from itunes after watching and being impressed by a few 'tube vids. Loving the album, sounds amazing and the songs are sweeeeeeeeet! Looking forward to the september release.

What are these SDB recordings like, some of the comments on a few of em say quality is poor!!

I just went to see CRB last night in Milwaukee. You might remember my raving from the last time when they came through Chicago, but I can honestly say this show took it up several more notches.

The new album "Big Moon Ritual" is REALLY great. Neal did some guitar solos that absolutely made my jaw drop. Watch on youtube "Star or Stone."

Rosebud: I can't see you not liking this. It is super Dead-y, ha! To me, it's a mix of GD, The Black Crowes, Cardinals (yes I can hear that too insofar as the crossover of Neal's contributions in both of those bands...that common thread), southern rock (think Allman Bros) with guitar solos ilke Jeff Beck's. Something like that.

They did a super great cover of "Bertha." Crowd went nuts.

Got to say howdy to Neal after, too.

We may see them again tomorrow at Chicago's Taste of Randolph Street. That will be very different from last night's experience where I was right up front, but really would love another hit.
