Heartbreak A Stranger - cat number

Hi all,

Just curious, does anyone know why 'Heartbreak A Stranger' cat. number is PAX-AM 030 rather than PAX-AM 014?

Thanks

Re: Heartbreak A Stranger - cat number

The only guesses as of right now is that either the Burger Records Shit cassettes count for the PAXAM numbers or that he is starting a 7" subscription series through PAXAM. The latter would be my guess.

Re: Heartbreak A Stranger - cat number

From looking on twitter it looks like he is getting other bands to release split singles on PAX-AM but it doesn't make sense for these to have lower catalogue numbers

definately think we'll get Blackhole this Autumn. Can't see a new studio album quite yet as I don't think Ryan would be ready to tour it right away (or to the extent he supported the Ashes and Fire release)

Ryan said that Blackhole was sitting on his store floor taking up too much space so that means it WOULD already have a cat no. Also, if a project doesn't go a head for whatever reason it retains that cat no., so gaps do appear in sequences often. Er, or so I'm told.

I think this summer will concentrate on non-Ryan PAX-AM releases (with The Shit and maybe other streaming stuff being distributed by someone else) and in the Autumn we will get Blackhole

I hope you are right about Bh.

Re solo touring I know that John Martyn was forced in to a financial situation whereby to keep a band together and on the road he HAD to play a lot of solo dates (cash in hand) which paid his rent. Not sure Ryan is selling the volumes or can put the bums on seats to regularly do a Cardinals thing now. But with the cash that is changing hands for merch at the shows and on the netz, who knows?

Pretty sure things like The Shit COST him money.

Tom, he's borderline OCD, but possible. On Wed he was wiping down the table on stage and trying to align (what with?) his 2 guitars on the right hand side of the stage .

He told a fan that there are no more dates planned after this leg which means no promotion of a 'big' project and we are in May next week. Me is leaning towards either the box-set/download very soon after the tour, Bh for the late summer, or here's hopin', BOTH. Touring, new 'new' album for late Autumn/Winter/Xmas release which means lots of gigs late 2012/2013 to promote said major league opus. World Tour baby!

But hey, what the hell do I know .

that was really funny when he was moving his stuff and wiping the table down. He just loves being stupid and mucking around. I'm sure plenty of newcomers woudn't get his sense of humour.

Depp has that too. At times you almost think they are Brits with their off beat humour. In America, I often get family friends say to me ''did you mean what you just said?''.....only half is the truth dear!

While we are on this, I think (imvho) most of his problems with the press and fans, and whatnot, comes from him finding it all a bit 'insulting and humourless', especially when he clearly has a great understanding for the absurdities of life.

Vinyl (7'' box-sets, clear plastic 10'' and 12'' with mushrooms on), CD, Cassette and DVD versions,
Spot beat him to the 8 Track version only because Tom isn't old enough to know what one is.

Tom, Balv says that he's changing your avatar to a 'gold' hoover.
We are only jealous...keep on keepin' on, you are a lovely fella (rich enough but not quite my type, I prefer girlie-boys hehehe).

haha. true

blackhole definitely has a cat # but who knows about the rest. check out third man's catalog. it jumps all over the place. depends on what other projects are going on, and then the ones you don't know about. a pax-am subscription service like the vault would be awesome.

Re: Heartbreak A Stranger - cat number

On a serious note and sorry if this has been covered before but I take it the UK/Euro RSD pressing is the same as ROW. The copy I have was made in The Netherlands.

Deertick? Do you know?
i have no idea.... i do know that Furnace Mfg is the one the presses his 7"s now and has for the last year and a half at least and that company is located in Virginia in the US. they also handle most of the RSD releases since day one that began but i don't know why there would be other copies of RA's RSD release pressed in the Netherlands when Furnace was already pressing them....
