Atlanta make-up show???

I'm copying this post, recently made by satisfiedeveryday, into a new thread just because I want it to be seen. I think there were a lot of complaints associated with the show in Atlanta that was cut short, and I think this post deserves some exposure. I just didn't want this to get buried and not be seen. So, here it is, posted the other day by satisfiedeveryday in the thread about the recent Atlanta show:

"I got this email yesterday.

Thanks for your patience! We are working on a make-up show that will be held in March and will be free for VWA Ryan Adams ticket holders. Everyone should continue to hold onto their tickets pending more details.

Probably won't be making it, since the concert was part of my vacation and I live over a thousand miles away. Never been so disappointed in a concert in my life. Love him, love the Cardinals, but I think I got a glimpse of the Ryan some people complain about.

If that's the case, I'll be looking for the Portland, Maine '07 makeup show too!
Granted, it wasn't vocal trouble, but ear trouble & frustration.

Fact is though, Portland got just as short if not a shorter show, definitely shorter if you minus the song they did twice.
Glad that it's been acknowledged that they shorted Atlanta a second set.

Portland is still waiting....

OH YES! I hope that this is the real deal! That would be so, so killer! This would make my weekend to get this news. I did not receive this email yet, but will keep an eye out for it. If anyone else can confirm this, it would be much appreciated.

Oh, by the way, does anyone know if Ticketmaster can Re-Send you tickets of past shows? I just clicked on the link and it was not longer active. I still have one of my four tickets from the show, but would like to re-print the other three.

I would guess that being the email began with "Thanks for your patience" that probably satisfied everyday had originated an email and that was his/ her response from that. I wouldn't be checking your inbox too hard for this unless you have also sent one out. I might be wrong on this here, but the start of the email looks very much like a response to another.

I always keep my stubs!

Folks felt really snubbed by that show.
I know it was a first show for alot of the audience, maybe most, and to have him throw the mic down & storm off halfway through just left a bad taste.
I encouraged a lot of friends to go to that one, to turn them on to my favorite touring band. How many of them went to Boston(the next closest he's come)? Well, one did....anyway, I know I'm dreaming, just an acknowledgement would have been nice.
But we had a fun night at Portland, and I had a good breakfast with Zephy. Gotta remember to cherish the good parts, I can be such a whine-bag...

There was something very strange about the way Ryan was behaving, laughing in what appeared to be a rather sardonic way. He didn't seem sincere when he apologized before he left the stage, but seemed to be mocking us in his laughter. That's what I saw, anyway.

Graboff was the only band member kind (and disappointed, himself) enough to visit with disappointed fans after Atlanta. What an honorable, genuine gentleman, that one. Seemed to truly feel badly for us. He gave me a hug, and we talked privately for a moment. He also talked with a whole bunch of us for a long while, until he had to run and catch up with the bus. It was the only thing that made me feel less upset that night.

I disagree with you Bluebird Singing. I was at the show too. I think he was acting the way he was because he was VERY sick. I had been following his blogs and he had been struggling for over week. Honestly, I did not think the Atlanta show was going to happen. I also felt he was embarrassed like he said was. Not to say I wasn't disappointed the show did not last longer, but people get sick. Maybe they should have went off the stage a different way, but we do not know what he was going through (panic attacks, who knows)
In a statement Brad posted they were going to make it up to us in Atlanta. That is good enough for me.

yeah, bluebird, I was there too and thought Ryan acted maybe a bit awkward about the whole thing, but certainly not sardonic. I didn't think that he had any maliciousness about what he did, he was just embarrassed. Anyways, can't wait for the make up show.

I wasn't at the ATL show, but I was there for the Tuscaloosa experience the night before. I feel like I owe The Cardinals more money, that show was so rockin'. I will definitely go to see him in ATL if he comes in March. I think it's pretty awesome of them to perform a do-over show (if this really happens).

Granted I wasn't there, but I did read hundreds of posts about this show, and you're the first person to say you felt like RA was mocking you. There is no way I would believe that to be true. No offense - to you or to Ryan - but doesn't he always act rather "strange?" I'm sure any extra strangeness would be due to the fact that he was scared shitless about losing his voice, not to mention the embarrassment he said he was feeling.
Put yourself on stage in front of thousands of people - a place he admits always scares him anyway - and suddenly you're forced to deal with something you've never experienced before. It would be frightening enough to lose your voice, but in the middle of a show? How do you know you could've handled it any better?
I hope this show happens for all who got "shorted." Plus, my brother lives in Georgia. Maybe I'll have to plan a trip down there in March

Yeah, I got a phone call about that (since I called the box office complaining), and they said the same thing! March! So it must be the real deal. They also said that since it will be cold still, they are going to move it to an indoor venue and admission is free with your old ticket. So hang on to them and keep your fingers crossed for the Tabernacle!

This makes me feel so much better. I know he's had a bad rep for this stuff in the past, so it's nice to know that he's really turned it around.

So I go to ticketmaster to see if I can print my tickets again and it says it has problems processing my tickets, but the receipt page still comes up showing the tix I bought. I wonder how this system is going to work, especially if its at another venue now. I drove from Wilmington, NC to ATL for the show last time....its gonna be hard to know what to do if this actually does happen.
