I second the belated happy birthday! Thank you for the halloween show! I was lucky enough to come to Letterman, too, which doubled my fun. This sounds cheesy, and I don't know you, but its really nice to hear you sounding so happy, healthy and excited about life

now how am i supposed to sleep. all the anticipation!!! can hardly wait, but waiting makes it that much better. the new cardinals album sounds like it will be great, cause i really cant get enough of "freeway to the canyon" when played by THE CARDINALS. to help with the poll question, i love the format that i saw in nyc. so much stuff. where and when does it all start???

Personally, I love the two sets. I really, really do. It's real. Old school. No BS. And I think it allows you and the rest of the Cards to go your own way, find space in the songs/setlists and keep things new, interesting and unique on a nightly basis.

This said, I caught eight shows on the ET tour thus far, and I will say that it always seemed like the majority of the crowd didn't understand the two sets thing. Like, they often walked in late to the second set, throwing down drinks and being chatty. And this sometimes led to a bunch of Rhoda Rhos barking out requests and being generally annyoing.

So ... maybe there's some kind of way to find a happy medium? I don't know, though. Two sets just feels soooo Cards right now. So do three hour shows and unique setlists and jams from space and love and light and challenging, beautiful songs with five-part harmonies.

Cardinals III/IV sounds like the mothership. Bad ass! Just the idea of a real, true Cards record (dual vocals) is freakin' mad!

The crooner record also sounds insane. I saw and heard a ton of stuff on this last tour that makes me think this record could be mega. Kinda like "Starlite Diner" meets "Goodnight Hollywood Blvd." meets "Blue Sky Blues."

two sets are great! the semi-unannounced guests at Town Hall were cool also, but just having the CARDINALS makes for an excellent night of music and gives the band a chance to stretch and let the music take whatever direction it may...

Yeah, I'm digging the two set deal. It allows more time to get into and out of and to think about the songs & melody & chords & structure & texture. The music just keeps getting more interesting the more you guys have a chance to play with it.

Having two vocalists sounds great! Neal has a fantastic voice!
